My family and I want to thank all of the British people and UK organizations who made us feel like we were one of their own and never fighting alone.  So many Brits stood by our side to fight for Alessia's return; specifically Matt Wood & Clair Joslin with the UK International Child Abduction Unit, and Sharon Cooke & Alison Shalaby at Reunite International.  We also thank all of our English friends and Alessia's British family who took me and my mother into their homes and hearts during the Hague proceedings and who continue to support efforts to "do what's right" and return Alessia home.  I want to thank Rabbi Jeff Berger in London for his efforts throughout the Hague proceedings and for standing with me and my mother in the UK Court of Appeals when we (tried) to defend ourselves without counsel.
 
I again thank my brilliant attorneys, Charla Bradshaw and Jessica Hall Janicek at Koons Fuller, as well as Hague attorney 'Stephen Cullen of Miles & Stockbridge'; an expert in Washington on the Hague Convention who went out of his way to help while we were fighting alone and without counsel in the UK;  and one more massive thanks to Hal Berger of the 'Global Missing Children Fund'  who carried me emotionally, physically and financially throughout the Hague trials.  Thanks to my good friend Brian Leftin in Dallas, who used every contact & resource he could think of to help us - love you bro.  Thanks to all the churches & synagogues throughout America for your continued prayers and support - especially to Rabbi Wildes & Rabbi Cohen with 'Manhattan Jewish Experience', (MJE) and of course to 'Jewish Family Services' of Dallas, the Ann & Nate 'Levine Academy' and to 'Chabad of Dallas' for their amazing efforts and contributions.  Thanks to my dear friend Stacey Gaswirth from the Shelton Group for her PR genius and loving support. 

We thank God for all of the Media Networks who rallied to cover Alessia's case.  The collaborative efforts of NBC, ABC, CBS and CW 33 in Dallas have ultimately led to the exposure of the conspiracy to kidnap Alessia and sparked the 'NATIONAL' campaign now fighting for her return. 

And finally, to God, my wonderful family, my amazing friends, and the U.S. Department of State who have picked me up, given us hope, and have kept me going in this exhaustive battle.

OCTOBER 2010: THE LAST TIME BART SAW ALESSIA
My deepest thanks go to Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey and to David Goldman, our country's two biggest  heroes on the international abduction of U.S. children.  Congressman Smith invited me to Washington DC to participate in the most monumental, bipartisan decision in history regarding a foreign country's failure to return American Children abducted to another country.  Congressman Smith, a senior member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Chairman of the House Congressional panel that oversees human rights successfully authored and championed a BILL that was unanimously approved in a chorus of 'yays' by the full Foreign Affairs Committee on October 10, 2013. H.R. 3212, cited as the  ‘‘Sean and David Goldman International Child Abduction Prevention and Return Act of 2013’’ was passed into Legislation to send a "strong message to the international community that the abduction and retention of American Children will not be tolerated, and that the U.S. will now take measures against foreign countries that are non-compliant to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Children.

"David Goldman:
"And eventually the (foreign) courts will say, ‘‘Well, we know the child has been held illegally. We get that he has been abducted or she has been abducted... But now they are 'adapted.' So let’s reward the kidnapper, and  let’s be a country that actually rewards child abduction to the abductor... "And, again, this is where we need to step in with these sanctions to show we’re not going to tolerate this."

VERY SPECIAL THANKS: to former Texas Senators Florence Shapiro and Kay Bailey Hutchison, as well as Senator Jane Nelson, former Texas  House Representative Jerry Madden; Plano Police Detective Brian Pfahning and Hal Berger, Director of the Global Missing Children Fund; each of whom submitted critical evidence to the U.S. Department of State & British Central Authority confirming Alessia’s abduction from the U.S. 

We're also extremely grateful: to Preston Findley, attorney for NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children) who submitted an Affidavit on behalf of Alessia regarding challenges of returning American children abducted to the United Kingdom.

NCMEC AFFIDAVIT ON US CHILDREN KIDNAPPED TO THE UK:
 “in  (92%) of active unresolved cases involving U.S. Children taken to the [United Kingdom], we have been seeking return of our children for one year or longer; and (38%) remain unresolved for FIVE years or longer.”  When the Hague Convention failed, "(14%) of closed cases were recovered through Law Enforcement action between the US & the UK.”
